Our History
Welcome to the Racehorse Tavern! I’m Jim Delisio, and my family has proudly owned and operated this place for 38 years. My father, James Sr.—or “Pop” as we called him—laid the foundation for what the Tavern is today, and I’m honored to carry on his legacy. That’s us in the photo, a team built on tradition and heart.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I spent 32 years working at Harley Davidson before retiring in 2010. Now, I pour that same passion into the Racehorse. My wife, Susan, has been my rock for 32 years, and together we’ve raised three boys: Josh, 42, who just retired from the Army; Brandon, 39; and Jimmy, 35. I’m also a proud grandpa to six grandkids—four girls and two boys—who keep me young at heart. My younger siblings, Steve and Ann, round out our tight-knit clan.
The Racehorse isn’t just a business—it’s a second home. I love my family and friends, both here and beyond these walls, and I’m thrilled to share this space with you. Whether it’s a cold drink, a lively event, or just good company, I look forward to serving you and making memories at the “Horse” for years to come. Thanks for being part of our story!
